Day 2: CPAP life.

Last night with my older mask was better than using the mask that didn't fit right.  I did not have to fight with it and it stayed in place for the most part.  I still woke up with a headache and woke up a few times.  I do know I took it off for a little bit and I fell asleep with it off.

I did go back to sleep after Izzy when to school and got a little bit more sleep with the mask on.  I have been awake for a few hours.  I went on an outing to get my thyroid refill and then to wally world for a bit.  I am a little tired, but not totally drained and I do not feel like I have brain fog today.  That my friends is a major improvement.

This is the kind of mask I am currently using.

So one thing I learned is.  YOU MUST get your mask fitted to make sure it is the right one for your head.  If you buy it locally make sure you ask for the fitting.

New life with a CPAP machine

My life with a CPAP Machine,

I believe I had my sleep study test done back in 2015 and was given a CPAP machine.  I used the machine several times and I remember waking up feeling like I was drowning.  Needless to say, I did not stick with using the machine for very long.

Fast forward to Dec 2018...................

I am back using the machine because of several Drs. have been getting onto me for not using my CPAP machine.

These last few nights have been very hard trying to adjust to using the CPAP again.  The mask was very uncomfortable, wouldn't stay in place, I had to keep readjusting it, and it was even painful at times.  I have been having headaches night and day.  I have been even more tired than my normal tired and brain fog more so than normal.

So today after leaving my thyroid dr. I went back to the medical place where I pot the mask from to see if someone could help me adjust the mask so it would fit right.  This is when I find out the mask they gave me, the one that has been giving me pain and discomfort is too small.  Sadly since it was past the 30 days they were not going to exchange it for me.  If I wanted a mask that fit I would have to pay for it out of pocket.

The mask I got back in September is out of pocket also since the insurance only deducted the $320.00(Plus) from out deductible.  Which means I still had to pay out of pocket.  There was no way I was going to pay for another mask since the first one was like throwing money down the drain.

So I slid the mask and bag of parts across the table and said I am not going to pay for this and walked out.

Yep...  I just did that.   I am feeling defeated.

I have to hang in there though.  I will use my old mask from 2015 until I come up with something else.  At least it is the right size.
